ID# A1871566 – Kane, is a 1 year old, Tan, Border Terrier mix. Kane is affectionate and loves his walks along with being a lap dog. He is dog friendly and just the cutest thing ever! Kane loves to do zoomies in the yard but really just enjoys hanging out with his person. Kane is the perfect size and has the BEST smile EVER! ID# A1871140 – Adan is a 7 year old, Seal point, Domestic Shorthair mixAdan is a beautiful, blue eyed Siamese. He loves a good chest and bully rub. He rolls around on his back, rubbing his head against your hand for pets and scratches. He gives joyful head bumps. Adan is a loving, quiet and mellow boy. If you would like to see for yourself, visit him at the Eastside shelter.


The Animal Welfare Department is participating in the Mayor’s State of the City address. On Saturday, May 20th, from 10:00AM – 1:00PM at the Albuquerque Rail Yards. We will have shelter pets up for adoption, as well as foster and volunteer recruitment information, a spinning wheel with prizes and an interactive table that will be focused around creating enrichment for shelter pets.

To view and/or adopt pets, simply arrive at either of the open location. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing. Anyone wanting to adopt a pet visit our website at www.cabq.gov/pets to see available pets.

Eastside Adoption Center, 8920 Lomas Blvd NE; 10:30 to 6, closed Mondays

Westside Adoption Center, 11800 Sunset Gardens SW; 10:30 to 6, closed Mondays

Lucky Paws Adoption Center, Coronado Mall, 6600 Menaul NE, 87110; Thursday thru Sunday, 11:00AM – 6:00PM, Sundays 12:00PM – 6:00PM, closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

All adoptions will take place at AWD’s Eastside, Westside facilities and Lucky Paws inside Coronado mall.
