ID# A1822419 – Kitkat is a 4 month old, Brown Tabby, Domestic Shorthair mix.  Kitkat is a little purrbox who loves to cuddle in your arms for pets and belly rubs. She is very playful with a human companion. Kitkat is a special needs kitten who has eye issues, what she needs most in this world is a loving human who will be willing to look past her differences and give her a loving forever home she deserves. Kitkat is at the Eastside shelter, you can meet her by getting into the virtual line for an appointment.

ID# A1823080 – Wyatt is a 3 year-old, Brown, Labrador Retriever mix. Wyatt is a happy boy who enjoys his walks and the company of his human. Sweet Wyatt would love to have positive reinforcement training with lots of love, treats and praise! He is an amazing pup with an eagerness to please. If you are willing to take the time to get to know Wyatt, please stop by the Eastside shelter and join our virtual line.  

OTHER AWD NEWS: AWD is continuing with appointment-only adoptions thru Thursday, 12/10. Beginning Friday, 12/11, both shelter locations will conduct animal viewing and adoptions through a first come, first serve basis. This will be accomplished by signing up for a virtual line. To view and/or adopt pets, simply arrive at either of the open location. This is in an effort for AWD to continue with its mission to save animal lives and also comply with social distancing recommendations. Anyone wanting to adopt a pet is asked to visit www.cabq.gov/pets to see available pets and to call 311 to schedule an adoption appointment.

Eastside Adoption Center, 8920 Lomas Blvd NE; 10:30 to 6, closed Monday and Wednesday is set aside for high risk individuals

Westside Adoption Center, 11800 Sunset Gardens SW; 10:30 to 6, closed Mondays

When it is your turn, you will be contacted and advised to enter. You will have no more than 45 minutes in which to meet a maximum of three pets and process the adoption paperwork.

All adoptions will take place at AWD’s Eastside and Westside facilities, The Everyday Adoption Center inside Petsmart and Lucky Paws inside Coronado mall remain closed.
